Much has been said about loneliness, technology, and isolation. Our communities, our friends, and our families feel these forces deeply. Our question is: how can I make things better?
Our in-progress answer? We gather, we fumble, we learn, and we return.
At Social Fabric we’re making tools, games, and art that help folks jump over barriers of isolation, that create soft landing spaces for coming together, and that share stories that inspire us to linger on the sidewalk with our neighbors.
Social Fabric is a project of Lisa Beth Anderson and Laura Margaret Lott. We’re connected by two tin cans, a very long string, and a lot of hope that the world can be a more loving place.
This year we’ve made calling cards for neighbors, designed a logo for an intergenerational camp, and attended lots of potlucks. We are working on a book about family language. We’d love to hear about your community and how you get together.
